Overview[]

The final entry into the franchise and it does not disappoint when compared to the previous games. Much needed mission variety returns and allied ships are finally available on certain missions, involving both combat and non-combat oriented ships. Maps are more varied and the difficulty can only amplify the effects of more unique objectives. Without a doubt, it is the most "complex" among the trilogy (possibly even the entire series) and while unrelated in this page, it's story is also highly dense.

Mission 1-1[]

Mission 1-1
Stage 1-1-0

Like other beginning chapters, the first mission is simple compared to the other, more varied missions EK provides. It's a simple mission that requires the destruction of all enemies but compared to the other opening missions, this does have its sorts of difficulty with reinforcements appearing near the Luxiole after a few minutes. However, it should be manageable with suitable Hyper Weapon usage.

Mission 1-2[]

Mission 1-2
Stage 1-2
  • Controlled Ships: Braveheart + (Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser), Luxiole
  • Allied Ships: Lucky Star, Kung Fu Fighter, Trick Master, Happy Trigger, Harvester, Sharp Shooter, Elsior
  • Enemy Ships: Destroyer x 11, Fast Attack Ship x 11, Heavy Ship x 1
  • Victory Condition: Destroy all enemies
  • Defeat Condition: Merged Emblem Frame destroyed, Luxiole destroyed, Elsior destroyed
  • Special Condition: None

After an impressive cutscene, the Moon Angel Wing and the Elsior arrive to assist the battle and the full Angel Wing sans Roselle is available for the fight. Like previous missions, having two healers means that a team of two can sweep two halves of the map before converging into one. The vast amount of fighters the player has compared to the numerous but significantly easier enemies to take down makes the mission exceedingly simple.

Mission 2-1[]

Mission 2-1
Stage 2-1-0
  • Controlled Ships: Braveheart + (Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser), Luxiole
  • Allied Ships: Barmell Cruiser x 4
  • Enemy Ships: Destroyer x 8, Fast Attack Ship x 6, Cruiser x 4
  • Victory Condition: Destroy all enemies
  • Defeat Condition: Merged Emblem Frame destroyed, Luxiole destroyed, Time runs out
  • Special Condition: None

The Rune Angel Wing finally have allied units available and this won't be the last time. The classic Cruiser class ships from the Transbaal Military (with lazily unchanged portraits) return and sadly are only effective against larger ships. They do provide some backup and the mission should be simple with the long awaited presence of allies.

Mission 3-1[]

Mission 3-1
Stage 3-1-0
  • Controlled Ships: Braveheart + (Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser), Luxiole
  • Allied Ships: None
  • Enemy Ships: Destroyer x 8, Fast Attack Ship x 4, Cruiser x 8, Heavy Ship x 1, Floating Battery x 7
  • Victory Condition: All enemies destroyed
  • Defeat Condition: Merged Emblem Frame destroyed, Luxiole destroyed
  • Special Condition: None

The map is obstructed with previously encountered defensive satellites that remain immobile and provide a nifty line of defense for enemies. That being said, the satellites are indiscriminate of their targets and will open fire on anything that gets close to it. Using that knowledge, the Emblem Frames should clear out the top pathway to the enemy forces while being prepared to send back a quick defense force should the enemies make it through the defensive satellites.

Mission 4-1[]

Mission 4-1
Stage 4-1-0
  • Controlled Ships: Braveheart + (Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser), Luxiole
  • Allied Ships: Shuttle
  • Enemy Ships: Fast Attack Ship x 2, Destroyer x 3, Cruiser x 4, Reinforcements
  • Victory Condition: Shuttle reaches the safe zone, Destroy all enemies
  • Defeat Condition: Merged Emblem Frame destroyed, Luxiole destroyed, Shuttle destroyed
  • Special Condition: The Luxiole cannot move

One of the many special missions in the game that involves the familiar concept of escorting. The Luxiole's shuttle is ambushed and is a good portion of the map away from the Emblem Frames with no armaments to defend itself with and already at half health. Have the merged Emblem Frame speed up to the front lines to mete out any preliminary threats before having the entire team fighting off the Fast Attack Ships and Destroyers. Around halfway into the shuttle's trip, a group of destroyers will appear near them and the team can either fully shift gears to defend the shuttle or send a smaller squad to deal with them. Near the end, a significant group of ships will appear but as long as the team is around to intercept them and distribute specials wisely, it should not prove much a threat.

Mission 5-1[]

Mission 5-1
Stage 5-1-0
  • Controlled Ships: Braveheart + (Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser), Luxiole
  • Allied Ships: None
  • Enemy Ships: Charger x 13
  • Victory Condition: Destroy all enemies
  • Defeat Condition: Merged Emblem Frame destroyed, Luxiole destroyed
  • Special Condition: None

A fairly straightforward mission compared to the previous chapter's and it is a simple combat mission with no obstructions. The Rune Angel Wing are put up against a squad of Arms Alliance Chargers that are numerous but prove little of a threat. While the mission objective is to destroy all enemies, the team simply needs to find Hamon's ship that is controlling the rest of the ships and destroy it. As long as damage is done to Hamon's ship, the essential target marker will appear near it and the team needs to focus fire to end the mission.

Mission 6-1[]

Mission 6-1
Stage 6-1-0
  • Controlled Ships: Braveheart + (Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser), Luxiole
  • Allied Ships: Apprentice Magi
  • Enemy Ships: Destroyer x 5, Fast Attack Ship x 6, Cruiser x 8, Heavy Ship x 2
  • Victory Condition: Escort 6 Magiic ships to their designated locations.
  • Defeat Condition: Merged Emblem Frame destroyed, Luxiole destroyed, Time runs out
  • Special Condition: None

Another varied mission that has you escort allied ships under fire from enemies. This time, the main priority is to get six Magiic ships across the map to form a hexagon. The Magiic ships are unlimited so mistakes can be made but there is a time limit so be warned. The team should be separated to protect the first two ships that take their positions while the rest fan out to different areas of the map. Since nearly all of the Hyper Weapons can be fired from a global range, use them to destroy faraway targets that may prove troublesome if kept alive near a Magiic ship.

Mission 7-1[]

Mission 7-1
Stage 7-1 EK
  • Controlled Ships: Braveheart + (Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser), Luxiole
  • Allied Ships: None
  • Enemy Ships: Destroyer x 4, Cruiser x 8, Heavy Ship x 4, Carrier x 4, Reinforcements
  • Victory Condition: Destroy all enemies
  • Defeat Condition: Merged Emblem Frame destroyed, Luxiole destroyed
  • Special Condition: None

A fairly straightforward mission albeit, against a sizable number of enemies to deal with. Reinforcements will arrive periodically and will move close to the Luxiole so it is advised to have a few Emblem Frames act as guards when reinforcements arrive. The regular strategy should apply to destroy Fast Attack ships first and then focus fire the heavier ships. Utilize specials to whittle down the heavier ships or snipe down faraway threats.

Mission 8-1[]

Mission 8-1
Stage 8-1
  • Controlled Ships: Braveheart + (Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser), Luxiole
  • Allied Ships: Fairy Ark x 4, Anim Harcourt
  • Enemy Ships: Fast Attack Ship x 8, Cruiser x 3, Carrier x 2, Reinforcements
  • Victory Condition: Destroy all enemies
  • Defeat Condition: Merged Emblem Frame destroyed, Luxiole destroyed, Anim Harcourt destroyed
  • Special Condition: None

Another escort mission, only this time, there are two paths of escape for the allied ships and the team is highly recommended to split up into two groups to protect them. Technically, only the Anim Harcourt needs to remain intact but the mission's first priority is to safely escort the fairy ships before turning around to destroy the enemy. Reinforcements do appear and it will be troublesome to handle both ends but as long as the escort is safely finished, the mission is like any other.

Mission 8-2[]

Mission 8-2
Stage 8-2
  • Controlled Ships: Braveheart + (Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser), Luxiole (Top Half and Bottom Half)
  • Allied Ships: None
  • Enemy Ships: Divine Sorbet, Slave Unit x 6
  • Victory Condition: Destroy the Divine Sorbet
  • Defeat Condition: Merged Emblem Frame destroyed, Either half of the Luxiole is destroyed, Time runs out
  • Special Condition: None

After an impressive display of Bridge administration and an equally entertaining cutscene, the game's "boss battle" takes place as the Astral Sorbet's main gun is revealed to be part of a considerably smaller ship. The Divine Sorbet is armed throughout its entire form and has considerable firepower alone and it will target the Top Half of the Luxiole to the bottom left. Meanwhile, 6 drones will target the bottom half, situated at the bottom right of the map. The destruction of either half will result in a game over so it is necessary to split the team up to combat both threats. Rico, Lily, and Anise are considerably faster and should be able to pursue the 6 enemies while the slower Kahlua/Tequila and Natsume will be able to deal with the Divine Sorbet. Nano is recommended to be kept around the latter group as the Divine Sorbet's guns do constant damage to anything that gets close to it in its pursuit of the Luxiole. The 6 drones will target the bottom half of the Luxiole exclusively so the team dealing with them will need minimal repairs, but having Nano's Hyper Weapon set to Repair Wave is advised if things get rough. The Divine Sorbet is one of the handful of ships in the series that has a Special Meter of its own and when it takes enough damage, it will use its main cannon to fire at the Luxiole that will deal considerable damage.

Mission 9-1[]

Mission 9-1
Stage 9-1-0
  • Controlled Ships: Holy Blood Kai, Luxiole, (Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser) - (Chosen Angel's Emblem Frame)
  • Allied Ships: None
  • Enemy Ships: Herea, Fast Attack Ship x 8, Cruiser x 12, Heavy Ship x 8
  • Victory Condition: Destroy all enemies
  • Defeat Condition: Holy Blood Kai destroyed, Luxiole destroyed, Time runs out
  • Special Condition: Braveheart cannot enter Firing Mode

With his chosen Angel taken away, Kazuya finally takes his rightful place in the lead as the main character on the upgraded model of the Holy Blood that allows his merged Braveheart onto the field as its own unit. That being said, the respective Emblem Frame and its Hyper Weapon is replaced by the new Holy Blood but the one-hit kill Photon Diver makes it well worth it. It should be noted that while Herea is seen as an enemy unit on the map, he does not attack or receive damage and is only there for aesthetics. The map features an obscene amount of enemies and the first and foremost targets should be the Fast Attack ships squadrons on the top and right side of the map. By the time you deal with the top contingent, the right squadron will be nearing the halfway point and they should be dealt with before proving any problems to the Luxiole. The next targets should be the Cruisers as they deal the most damage and are the most numerous in the mission. Compared to the Heavy Ships, Cruisers deal more damage and the Heavy Ships are more for soaking up damage than dealing it out, so it is recommend to use Hyper Weapons to either finish off low HP ships going for the Luxiole or for taking out a group of Cruisers. Make sure to keep the Luxiole relatively safe and close by, as this will take a good chunk of the available time.

Mission 9-2[]

Mission 9-2
Stage 9-2-0
  • Controlled Ships: Holy Blood Kai, Luxiole, (Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser) - (Chosen Angel's Emblem Frame)
  • Allied Ships: Gloria Sword x 6, Reinforcements
  • Enemy Ships: Fast Attack Ship x 8, Cruiser x 12, Heavy Ship x 8
  • Victory Condition: Destroy all enemies
  • Defeat Condition: Holy Blood Kai destroyed, Luxiole destroyed
  • Special Condition: Braveheart cannot enter Firing Mode

After 2 games of being able to do nothing but get taken over, Seldar's fleet arrives as reinforcements. Thankfully, their ships are considerably powerful and can provide an equally excellent source of both damage soaking and damage dealing. That being said, the mission is exactly the same as before, only that you have reinforcements, allowing you to easily wipe the map clean of enemies and have a safe area for the Luxiole to administer frequent resupplies.

Mission 10-1[]

Mission 10
Stage 10-1-0
  • Controlled Ships: Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser, Luxiole
  • Allied Ships: Charger x 3, Gloria Sword x 2, Apprentice Magi x 2, Barmell Cruiser x 2, Spard Destroyer x 2, Zem Carrier x 1
  • Enemy Ships: Positioning Ship x 5, Cruiser x 15, Reinforcements
  • Victory Condition: Destroy all Positioning Ships
  • Defeat Condition: Luxiole destroyed, Time runs out
  • Special Condition: Braveheart cannot enter Firing Mode

Tapio notes out multiple times that the area is permeated with nanomachines programmed to repair damage to the enemy ships. Sure enough, this makes taking down enemies difficult unless the team focus fires and that is the primary strategy in this mission. Focus firing the many cruisers to later have unobstructed targeting of the 5 Positioning Ships that required to be destroyed for the mission's success. Even if one of them is destroyed, they will eventually be replaced with a new positioning ship so going for simultaneous take-downs is recommended. Thankfully, the most amount of allied ships are available to utilize as well. The Arms Alliance on the left, Magiic and Seldar on the right, and the Transbaal Empire at the top. The Arms Alliance fleet should be assisted with available Hyper Weapons as their ships are relatively weak compared to the others. The Transbaal, Magiic, and Seldar fleets should be fine on their own and they can deal considerable damage to nearby Positioning Ships after the cruisers are dealt with. When enough cruisers are taken out and the Positioning Ships have sustained a fair amount of damage, send the Angel Wing to focus fire each Positioning Ship around the map, firing off their Hyper Weapons to the farthest ones away. At this point, the allied ships should be making a full charge toward the nearby Positioning Ships as well and a well timed attack can end the mission with minimal trouble.

Mission 11-1[]

Stage 11-1
  • Controlled Ships: Winged Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser, Luxiole
  • Allied Ships: Ripsior x 6
  • Enemy Ships: Areruia Will, Charger Ships x 6, Destroyer x 19
  • Victory Condition: Destroy the Areruia Will
  • Defeat Condition: Kazuya's Merged Emblem Frame destroyed, Luxiole destroyed
  • Special Condition: None

For the first and last time, the Rune Angel Wing's Emblem Frames are Winged and benefit from an exponential boost in speed, offensive power, defense, and special meter gain. They are also backed up 6 Ripsiors, with their own Hyper Weapons, that can easily handle the rest of the enemies while the Rune Angel Wing make for the Areruia Will in the top end of the map. Because of the Wings, the Rune Angel Wing's specials will charge exceedingly fast and can be either used to wipe the map of enemies or simply focus the flagship, the latter of which is recommended. Before reaching the flagship, 6 Charger Ships that are essentially weaker versions of the Divine Sorbet are present but even they can be ignored and can be dealt with later by the Moon Angel Wing. Targeting them would cause trouble as they still retain their special meter and exclusively aim the Luxiole when they're charged. The Areruia Will is protected by an enormous barrier that can only be dispelled after either withstanding a Hyper Weapon or after a large amount of focused firepower. Only when its shields are down can damage be dealt and the team will have ample chances to do so with constant Hyper Weapons and the Ripsior's own Chrono Break Cannons that can tear through multiple enemies. The Areruia Will's Hyper Weapon is the Divine Cross which is a mapwide, 4-pronged beam that slowly rotates and the Angel Wing need to be maneuvered to safety when the ship begins to glow red. When the enemy flagship reaches its last portions of health, it will reinforce itself with a more powerful shield while charging a stronger Divine Cross. Noa will contact Kazuya and inform him that his chosen Angel's Hyper Weapon will be the only attack to break past the shield and as soon as the Hyper Weapon on the chosen Angel is prepared, targeting the Areruia Will for the last time will end the mission.

Mission EX 1-5[]

  • Controlled Ships: Braveheart + (Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser)
  • Allied Ships: None
  • Enemy Ships: Holy Blood Kai x 6
  • Victory Condition: Destroy all enemies
  • Defeat Condition: Rune Angel Wing defeated
  • Special Condition: None

EX Missions 1-5 consists of the Rune Angel Wing taking a mock battle against the crew of the Luxiole, Elsior, important personnel from NEUE, the UPW members, and finally the Gate Keepers. Most fights should remain the same only with different formations.

Mission EX 6[]

Stage EX 6
EX 6
  • Controlled Ships: Braveheart + (Cross Caliber, Eagle Gazer, First Aider, Spell Caster, Relic Raider, Papillon Chaser)
  • Allied Ships: None
  • Enemy Ships: Lucky Star, Kung Fu Fighter, Trick Master, Happy Trigger, Harvester, Sharp Shooter
  • Victory Condition: Defeat the Moon Angel Wing
  • Defeat Condition: Rune Angel Wing defeated
  • Special Condition: Braveheart cannot access Firing Mode

After an amusing pre-battle dialogue, the final challenge is for the Rune Angel Wing to once again test their skills against their seniors. Unlike the last occasion in MK, the Rune Angel Wing are not separated by any means and it is a full-on 6 vs 6 fight. The strategies from before should still apply, keep pressure on Vanilla while focusing Mint down as a Flier Dance will cripple the team. Then move on to Milfie, Ranpha, and Forte while leaving a weakened Vanilla and Chitose last.
